What is CBC?

Cannabichromene (CBC) is the third most abundant cannabinoid in cannabis, yet it remains relatively unknown. Unlike THC and CBD, CBC doesn't bind strongly to CB1 or CB2 receptors. Instead, it works through other pathways: activating TRPV1 and TRPA1 channels (involved in pain perception) and inhibiting the reuptake of anandamide. This makes CBC a powerful 'entourage' player—it enhances the effects of other cannabinoids rather than producing strong effects on its own. Research suggests CBC may be particularly valuable for mood, pain, and inflammation.

How It Works

CBC doesn't bind well to CB1 or CB2, but it activates TRPV1 and TRPA1 ion channels (pain and inflammation), inhibits the breakdown of anandamide (our body's THC), and interacts with other non-cannabinoid receptors. This multi-target approach makes it valuable in full-spectrum products.
